Project: Englewood Health Interior and Exterior Signage and Wayfinding

Summary:

From the onset of GDS’ and Englewood Health’s partnership in 2007, each have grown dramatically in their knowledge of wayfinding as well as brand recognition. While the knowledge of technical aspects in terms of fabrication and design have predominantly expanded through GDS personnel; key members of Englewood’s staff have developed a keen eye for decision points and traffic flow throughout the hospital.

Now in nearly 2020.. GDS has completed over 85 projects from small scale insert updates to large scale full brand refreshes for Englewood Health. Notably GDS has recently completed a full overhaul of 650+ signs throughout the hospital in late 2019. These projects have had a very quick turn over rate no matter the size, due to the increased understanding of wayfinding and how it can be best implemented throughout a hospital that services annually 2,500+ Employees, 1,110+ Medical Staff, 600+ Volunteers, 15,000+ impatient admissions, and 530+ licensed beds. 

Exterior Blurb:

A few years following our partnership in 2010 GDS was enlisted to create an exterior wayfinding system to help further drive patient experience as they navigate an otherwise difficult road layout surrounding the hospital. In 2017 this signage was revamped to encompass a system with fabricated aluminum frame boxes with adhered raised white lettering painted to match Englewood Health’s notable Pantone 285 C blue.
