GDS Architectural Signage Solutions, a leading sign design, and wayfinding company for over 30 years, is pleased to announce that we can assist your facility with updating your signage to comply with the Mayor’s transgender-neutral order. Our friendly staff has already begun assisting our current clients and we would love to help you with your signage. We truly care, and we don’t want anybody to worry about any surprise inspection visits or risking potential penalties!
The New York City Council of Human Rights and Mayor de Blasio have passed legislation that mandates all publicly attainable single-occupant bathrooms to be gender neutral. In a statement de Blasio declared, “Every New Yorker should feel safe and welcome in our city- and this starts with our city buildings.” The bill passed will require facilities to remove gender-specific signs from their single-occupant restrooms and replace them with signage that appropriately designates they may be used by all.
While all updates are to be completed by January 1, 2017, de Blasio strongly emphasizes that the process is to be completed ASAP. As he previously stated, “New York City is the birthplace of the fight for LGBT rights, and we continue to lead in that fight so every New Yorker can live with dignity, he places,” this reaffirms the Mayor isn’t playing games so give us ten minutes out of your busy day and give GDS a call at (888) 437-9993 or write us an email at info@gdssigns.com!
Thank you, GDS signs for informing us about gender neutral signage. De Blasio strongly reinforces all sign updates are done ASAP.
